MODERN SLAVERY & HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT

We are proud of the steps we have taken to combat slavery and human trafficking and are committed to continuing to develop our practices.

ORGANISATION’S STRUCTURE

We are engaged in the provision of construction and contracting services for projects in various industry sectors including retail, residential, commercial and industrial.

We have over 80 employees and we operate in the UK.

The company is privately owned. We have no subsidiaries and no ultimate parent company.

OUR BUSINESS

We operate as a main contractor specialising in high quality new build, refurbishment and fit-out developments across a range of sectors, predominantly within London and the South of England.

The business operates from our Head Office based in Chertsey, Surrey. All sourcing decisions are made by the Operations Team which is based at Head Office.

OUR SUPPLY CHAINS

Our supply chains include:

  • Sourcing labour and materials from subcontractors
  • Sourcing labour from labour agencies
  • Purchasing materials from suppliers
  • Contracting with consultants.

OUR POLICIES ON SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-Slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

We have appointed a compliance officer who is responsible for monitoring the relevant policies and the Board of Directors of Blenheim House Construction Limited has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy and its implementation complies with its legal and ethical obligations.

DUE DILIGENCE PROCESSES FOR SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we have in place systems to:

  • Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains
  • Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains
  • Regularly monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains
  • Protect whistle-blowers.

SUPPLIER ADHERENCE TO OUR VALUES

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values we require our suppliers to abide by our anti-slavery and human trafficking policy (or their own equivalent). For subcontractors, labour agencies and consultants, this is achieved via our contract terms. For materials suppliers, payment terms are dependent upon receipt of written confirmation of compliance with our policy, or evidence of their own equivalent.

We have a dedicated compliance team, which consists of involvement from the following departments:

  • Board of Directors
  • Human Resources
  • Procurement
  • Operations.

TRAINING

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff, primarily via e-learning, and support is available from the compliance team to any member of staff with queries or concerns.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Company’s modern slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year ending April 2023.
