The existing Grade II listed building, a former rope factory in the centre of Liverpool, was converted and refurbished into a 106 bedroom hotel for base2stay Liverpool. BHC were heavily involved in the design development and the application for Lottery fund grants.

Works commenced with an enabling contract to make the building safe. Following this, the project involved the renovation and structural strengthening of
the existing building, along with the installation of a new steel frame extension to the rear courtyard. The building was fitted out to a very high
standard, suiting the boutique style of the hotel.

The hotel opened for trading in July 2010, six weeks ahead of schedule.
