This was our second project on White Lion Street, a busy TfL red route close to the Angel tube station in Islington.  The project was a new build office, secured through a single stage tender.  We were appointed as principal contractor on the project after working with the Client Team to hone the design, removing risk and improving value, whilst negotiations with TfL were ongoing and demolition works were undertaken by others.

The new building comprises a close proximity piled secant wall, helping form a reinforced waterproof concrete basement.  A concrete core then provides stability for the main structural steel frame and long span pre-cast concrete floors.

Externally, the six-storey building is clad in traditional brickwork with double-storey stone features and zinc cladding to achieve a contemporary appearance.

Internally, the project is fully fitted out and serviced to cat A office standard with bespoke finishes to the landlord’s areas including reception, toilets and basement commuter facilities.

The building is located in close proximity to local businesses, residential properties and other nearby developments, with the added complexity of a busy, one-way junction making it a logistically challenging project.
