This project for The Portman Estate involved the development of a new 24 bedroom boutique hotel, set minutes away from Marble Arch and the busy thoroughfare of Oxford Street, for use by operator Zetter Group on completion.

The works comprised the demolition of two adjoining Grade II listed Georgian buildings that were in a structurally unstable condition. A complicated new
temporary support structure was installed to support the adjoining buildings, and was designed to coordinate with the existing structure, the emergency
temporary support frame installed prior to commencement and the new structural frame. The new seven-storey concrete framed building was then formed.

The envelope was designed and constructed to mirror that of the original building, and was built using traditional materials and methods to accurately
replicate the original building. The hotel incorporates a number of salvaged items, from doors, windows, fireplaces and plaster features to a cantilevered
stone stair.

Internally, the building is fully fitted out and serviced to a high level, in a style consummate with not only its heritage, but also the unique product
offered by the Zetter Group.
